On the weekend the small south west Queensland town of St George welcomed over 90 off-road competitors for round one of the BFGoodrich Australian Off-Road Championship - AORC.

The track south-east of the town has the start/finish location in three dry dams and offered spectators an unparalleled viewing platform.
Competition was over three days with prologue and the top 10 shootout on Friday, which determined starting positions for Saturday's two laps. Then on Sunday three laps concluded the competition.
Young driver Josh Howells/Eric Hume no 15 (Jimco buggy )showed older and more favoured drivers a clean set of wheels by setting the fastest time on Friday and led all weekend to claim a breakthrough win, in his bid to be crowned Australian champion.
Second place went to Greg Gartner/Jamie Jennings, piloting their extreme two wheel drive truck no 410. With an outstanding drive in third place, in only a Prolite Jimco was Michael Spokes/Brad Rogan no 116.
