Jon and Leny Gaffney, Graneta Limousin and Angus, were delighted when 39 bulls sold for an average of $7449 and topped at $12,000 on three occasions at their sixth annual bull sale near Bell on Friday.

In a breakdown of their catalogue, 26 Limousin bulls average $7192 topping at $12,000, while 13 Angus bulls averaged $7962 and topped at $12,000 twice and represented 100 per cent clearance.
Leading the Limousin section and selling for the top price was Graneta Puma, a 28-month-old son of Mandayen Vision L51 from Graneta Secret M3.
Graneta Puma entered the sale ring with a weight of 850 kilograms, an eye muscle area of 136 square centimetres, and a scrotal circumference of 36 centimetres.
He was selected by central Queensland commercial cattleman Laurence Hack of Alpha.
Mr Hack and his wife Pat join 800 Euro-cross breeders on both Rocklea and Prior Park, turning bullocks off onto the Japanese market.
Paying $11,000 for Graneta Pizza by Flemington Kracker K 50 from Graneta Red Rock Wacol was repeat buyer Matthew Marshall, Crescent Nine Pastoral Co, Springsure.
Graneta Pizza entered the sale ring with a weight of 778kg, an eye muscle area of 140sq cm and 37cm scrotal circumference.
Together with his wife Nevitta and his parents Stephen and Narelle, Mr Marshall runs 1500 cattle over Nandowrie, 53 kilometres south west of Springsure.
The Marshalls join 500 high-content Bos indicus Brahman breeders to Limousin bulls to produce high-quality MSA grade beef for the organic market.
Their steers and heifers are finished and consigned to Thomas Borthwicks at Mackay who provide Arcadian Organic and Natural Meat Company with a service kill.
Limousin volume buyers David York, Oakleigh, Wallumbilla, bought six to average $7833, while Brian and Helen Hayward, Warra, selected five to average $6500.
Robert and Melinee Leather, Barfield Station, Banana, bought four to average $6375.
The Leather's run 4000 head across 14,000 hectares at Banana and in the North Burnett, breeding and finishing cattle for EU, organic and grasslands markets.
In the Angus section of the sale run, Gina Rinehart's Hancock Beef Holdings paid $12,000 for Graneta Pornstar by Millah Murrah Klooney K42 from Kenny's Creek Bara J34.
At 23 months of age, Graneta Pornstar weighed 774kg, has an eye muscle area of 114sq cm and scrotal circumference of 42cm.
In all, Hancock Beef Holdings finished with five Angus bulls to average $8000, and they will head to Ms Rinehart's New England property Warrabah Station, between Kingstown and Manilla, NSW.
Also paying the top Angus money was repeat buyer Mark Wilson, Banana Station, Banana.
Mr Wilson's son Walter was buying on the day and selected Graneta Pepper, a son of Ascot Highlander K224 from Graneta Wilcoola H5. Overall, Walter finished with one Angus and five Limousin bulls to average $7000.
The sale was conducted by GDL, with auctioneers Peter Brazier and Mark Duthie.
